Variants of Tata Curvv

The Tata Curvv is available in four variants Smart, Pure, Creative, and Ingenium.

Following is a description of all these briefly:

Smart: It’s a basic variant and comes with all the bare necessities like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Pure: With more added features, it also comes with an 8-inch touchscreen, auto air conditioner, and rear parking assist. Creative: Most of the premium features come with this variant: a 10.25 touchscreen display all-digital, and ADAS features.

Ingenium: The top-of-the-line variant will be fully loaded with all features on offer and, in addition, will have a sunroof with an option to fill up with the premium sound system.

Performance and Powertrain of Tata Curvv

• On the road test drive of the Tata Curvv, I had the opportunity to sample both the available powertrains in petrol and diesel forms. The body indeed does have a petrol variant coming with a 1.2 L turbocharged engine producing 120 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, while the anti-diesel engine gets a 1.5 L turbocharged unit developing 115 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. Both engines can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.
• Once the mid-range is attained, the petrol engine becomes responsive and keen, and notice especially that its response will be particularly better in this range. The turbo kicks in fast and you almost get an instant kick in power when you need an extra flow. It is the dual-clutch system in particular that has made me notice that smooth and fast gear changing is such a relief while driving in town.
• However, the strong point of the diesel engine is the high-low starting torque, which is handy in situations like urban driving or going uphill. Not more sophisticated in design compared to its rivals, it makes up for powerful performance and good economy.
• The suspension values of the Curvv are optimum for both handling and comfort while driving. It absorbs bumps and potholes well – a very important requirement in this geographic area. The steering is reassuring as it carries good weight and offers some feedback, making it possible to do high-speed driving maneuvers with ease. Body roll has been well managed owing to proper suspension settings and the stiff body structure.
• One of the things that impressed me in my drive was the NVH level of Curvv. Special credit goes to Tata for designing the cabin in such a way that the external sound and engine vibrations are well suppressed; perfect for highway drives.
• I will rate the Creative variant to be the best because it takes all the reasonable features without the exorbitant price of the Ingenium variant. Most desirable features come in that without incurring the dollar tag of premium cost. Indeed, the Tata Curvv is a pretty well-equipped SUV; it’s fun and comfortable to drive. This stylishly designed SUV serves a comprehensive bouquet of advanced features backed by robust safety credentials, hence compelling in its segment.
